New Paper by Poozesh et al. "Implementation and verification of nonlinear spring-damper restraints in OpenFOAM's six-DOF rigid-body motion framework"
Today we at theOpenFOAM Journal want to show you a new publication in our Full Papers section:
Poorya Poozesh, Antonio Jose Alvarez, Arturo N. Fontan, and Felix Nieto, "Implementation and verification of nonlinear spring-damper restraints in OpenFOAM's six-DOF rigid-body motion framework"
The authors developed new OpenFOAM libraries that extend the existing linear spring-damper models to incorporate nonlinear translational and rotational restraints in a 6-DOF rigid-body analysis case. The implementation is embedded directly into the 6-DOF rigid body motion solver, so you can run simulations with nonlinear dynamic oscillations without relying on external structural solvers.
We think it is great paper if you work with rigid-body motion. As always, the source code and case files are provided so you can use the libraries for your own setups.
